BRADENTON, Fla. – Four of five players bettered their scores helping the eighth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team remain above the cut and likely to advance to the fourth round of the 2015 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship, at Concessions Golf Course in Bradenton, Fla., Sunday.

The top 15 teams from the 24-team field advance to the final round of stroke play and the Razorbacks posted a 303 Sunday coming off the course in 11th place. Six teams were unable to complete their third rounds and must finish tomorrow possibly impacting Arkansas position.  Play was delayed as round two had to be completed and then players were pulled from the course for nearly an hour due to lightening in the area.

The current cut is at plus-63 and Arkansas stands at 55-over for three rounds.  The Razorbacks are in the clubhouse with rounds of 310-306-313=919.

Junior Gabriela Lopez rallied with a two-over 74 and is tied for fifth place overall.  Lopez posted scores of 70-76-74=220 and is four strokes behind the individual leader.  Lopez was three-over on the front side.  She posted a bogey on hole two and doubled the ninth hole.

She rallied with an eagle on the 12th hole and finished strong with back-to-back par holes on 17 and 18, getting out of bunker trouble to save her score.

Sophomore Samantha Marks posted a third round 75, her best round of the tournament thus far.  Marks turned one-over and finished her day with three birdies to contribute to the team’s total.

Sophomore Summar Roachell and Regina Plasencia counted 77s on Sunday. Roachell was even through nine but struggled with the back nine as did Plasencia.  She was one-over on the front side.

Freshman Alana Uriell rounded out Arkansas scores.  The Carlsbad, Calif., native counted an 80 and is tied for the second-best three round total for Arkansas.

Play is scheduled to resume at 7:30 a.m. to complete round three.  The top 15 teams will begin the final round of stroke play at approximately 10:50 a.m., after which the individual stroke play winner will be determined.  The top eight teams move on to match play beginning Tuesday.
