FAYETTEVLLE, Ark. — Daryl Macon sparked a 19-0 run early in the second half and finished with a career-high 30 points, the most by any Razorback player this season, as the Arkansas men’s basketball team defeated Ole Miss 98-80 for its third straight win on Saturday night inside Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks (20-7, 9-5 SEC) have reached the 20-win mark for the third time in the last five seasons and have won three of the last five meetings against Ole Miss (16-11, 7-7 SEC) dating back to the 2013-14 season.

Macon dished out a key assist that started the big run and knocked down two of his career-high six 3-pointers during the stretch that pushed the lead to 75-51 midway through the second half. The Little Rock native was also efficient, going 10-of-13 from the floor, 6-of-9 from 3-point range and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line on his way to a 30-point effort.

Moses Kingsley recorded his fifth double-double of the season, the 21st of his career, with 14 points and 13 rebounds, to go along with four blocks. Jaylen Barford added 15 points, while Anton Beard knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points off the bench.

Arkansas and Ole Miss played to four ties and four lead changes early in the first half, before Arkansas gained control and led by as many as 12 on the way to a 46-37 halftime lead.

Ole Miss pulled to within five points early in the second half, but Macon answered for Arkansas on the other hand, dishing a no-look pass to Trey Thompson for the dunk and then knocking down a 3-pointer in transition to push the lead back to 61-51 with 14:54 left in the game.

Those two game-changing played ignited a 19-0 run over 4:20 and the Razorbacks’ lead swelled from 56-51 to 75-51 with 11:17 left in the contest. Arkansas followed that 19-0 run with a 9-0 run late in the game on dunks by Kingsley and Adrio Bailey and Macon’s sixth 3-pointer of the game.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING
“I have to say that was one of our better performances at home. I am sure or guys appreciated the fans coming out and creating an atmosphere. The timing of this year’s game was a big game for both of us and we held our own at home, that was an outstanding performance by a lot of different guys.” – Head coach Mike Anderson

“I am playing into the system now. I am being patient, not rushing into it. I had a few talks with coach over the weekend, and he told me just to trust him, trust the system, and it will come. I had to buy into the coaches, and that’s what I did tonight and these were the results.” – Junior guard Daryl Macon
