Mason Honored By SEC

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas guard Jailyn Mason earned Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week honors the league office announced today. It is her second weekly conference honor of the year.

Mason dropped in 13 first quarter points leading five players in double figures in Arkansas’ first SEC win of the year at Alabama. She also had six points in a road game at Texas A&M this week.

The honor is the second of the year for Mason and she is the first Razorback to earn an SEC weekly honor since Jessica Jackson was named SEC Co-Player of the Week during the 2014-15 season. She is also the second different freshman and fourth different player overall to earn an SEC weekly honor under head coach Jimmy Dykes.

Mason and the Razorbacks return home for a pair of games this week. Arkansas hosts Vanderbilt on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Missouri on Monday at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network.
