McCurdy Named to SEC Community Service Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas sophomore guard Sean McCurdy has been named to the Southeastern Conference’s Community Service Team for 2006-07.

The Westport, Conn., native is an active member of UA’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee and has participated in several community service efforts, including taking part in the “Razorback for a Day” program, serving Thanksgiving meals at the Homestyle Assisted Living Center, posing for photographs and signing autographs at a Big Brothers & Big Sisters function, and visiting with residents of the Children’s House, a local emergency shelter.

McCurdy was the team’s Glen Rose Academic Award winner for 2006 and he is also a member of UA’s Lon Farrell Academic Honor Roll.

He has played in 19 games this year with three starts, and averages 1.8 points and 1.4 assists.

The first start of his career came against Missouri-Kansas City on Dec. 2. He played 23 minutes and finished with six points, three rebounds and five assists. He also started at Texas and against Oral Roberts.

He has season highs of nine points against Central Michigan, four rebounds against Louisiana Tech, five assists against UMKC and Oakland, and three steals against Southern Illinois.
