McFadden to be Honored by Arkansas Legislature on Wednesday Afternoon

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas running back Darren McFadden will be honored by the state legislature in special ceremonies scheduled for the Arkansas State Capitol in his hometown of Little Rock on Wednesday afternoon.

McFadden, the consensus first-team All-American running back and 2006 Heisman Trophy runner-up, will be recognized with a special citation of accomplishment in the Arkansas House of Representatives at approximately 1:30 p.m. CT. Following that ceremony, McFadden will be honored on the floor of the Arkansas Senate with a resolution in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Razorbacks and the state.

The 2006 Doak Walker Award winner is spending time in his hometown this week while the University of Arkansas is on Spring Break. McFadden and his teammates will resume spring football practice next week.

McFadden set a school record with 1,647 rushing yards last season and finished second in the Heisman Trophy balloting to Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith. He is the only returning Heisman Trophy finalist for the 2007 season.
