FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior kicker Adam McFain has been named the Walton College of Business Supply Chain Management department’s John Ozment Outstanding Junior Award winner, as announced by the college Tuesday.
The John Ozment Outstanding Junior Award recognizes the top junior based on scholarship, leadership, and work experience. McFain is the third recipient of the department’s award that is named for John Ozment, a professor who has taught supply chain management for 25 years and retires this year.
McFain has shown hard work and dedication on and off the field. Last summer, McFain, a walk-on football player, worked at Lowes in order to cover his expenses and to work closely supply chain aspects of the company. After unloading freight for a summer, McFain returned to football where he earned a spot as the starting kicker mid-season. On the year, McFain was 7-of-10 on field goal attempts, including a career-long 49-yarder, averaged 60.3 yards on 45 kickoffs and was 20-of-20 on PAT attempts.
A Southeastern Conference Fall Honor Roll recipient for 2013 and 2014, McFain will begin an internship with JB Hunt this summer.
