Men are back on the links at 2009 Wolverine

ANN ARBOR, Mich.-After taking a nearly two week break between tournaments the University of Arkansas men’s golf team returns for the second event of the season this weekend.

The 2009 Wolverine will be broken into three rounds, two to be played on Saturday and the final on Sunday at the par 72, 6,979 yard Radrick Farms Golf Course. First round will begin promptly on Saturday at 8:30 with a shotgun start.

Facing Arkansas in the field of 14 teams are Baylor, Eastern Michigan, Iowa State, Louisville, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Michigan, Minnesota, Purdue, St. John’s, Toledo, Wisconsin and Xavier. The Hogs are the only team representing the SEC at the Wolverine.

“The team is playing solid, our performance at the Gopher Invitational was a good start for the year,” head coach Brad McMakin said, adding “I like the way the young guys are looking.”

David Lingmerth, Ethan Tracy, Austin Cook, Jamie Marshall, and Ty Spinella will be competing for Arkansas.

The Razorbacks who finished second among 12 teams in the season opener were recently ranked by the Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll as No. 11 in Division I, scoring 332 points.
