When the Hogs travel to Mississippi State for the 2008 SEC Cross Country Championships, Arkansas will be contending for its 35th-consective conference cross country title and 85th conference title (cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field). The Razorbacks won 17-straight SWC titles and went on to win 17-straight SEC titles.

UA harriers have won 10 of the 17 SEC individual titles since Arkansas joined the league in 1991. Of the 10 title winners, three were repeat winners, winning two-consecutive titles (Godfrey Siamusiye, 1995-96; Michael Power, 1998-99; Josphat Boit, 2004-05).

The Razorbacks return four harriers that earned first team, second team or all-freshman honors at the 2007 SEC Championships.

In 2007, Shawn Forrest and Tyler Hill were named first-team All-SEC, Chris Barnicle, Scott MacPherson and Matt Munoz were named second-team All-SEC and Lane Boyer, Duncan Phillips and Michael Chinchar were named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

Ranked No. 26 nationally, Arkansas made a slight but important jump in the regional rankings this week. Spending most of the season at No. 3 behind No. 1 Texas and No. 2 Texas A&M, Arkansas now sits at No. 2 behind No. 1 Texas A&M after a strong showing at the Chile Pepper Festival.
