Men?s track debuts at Stanford

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field will make its outdoor debut at the Stanford Invitational this weekend. The two-day event will take place Fri.-Sat., March 27-28 at Stanford’s Cobb Track and Angell Field.

Expected to compete for Arkansas this weekend are senior All-American Andy McClary in the 800 meters, senior All-American Shawn Forrest in the 5,000 meters, sophomore Lane Boyer and senior All-American James Strang in the 10,000 meters. McClary will be making his 2009 debut after missing the indoor season because of an injury.

Additionally, two members of the jump squad will travel to Stanford to compete. Senior All-American Mychael Stewart in the long jump and the 100 meters and senior All-American Nkosinza Balumbu in the triple jump are scheduled to compete. Stewart will also be making his 2009 debut. He did not have eligibility to compete during the indoor season.

Teams scheduled to compete include Alabama, BYU, California, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Portland, Stanford, USC, Washington and Wisconsin.

Field events will begin at 12:30 p.m. CST with running starting at 1:45 p.m. CST on Friday. Saturday will begin with field events at 11 a.m. CST and running events at 11:50 a.m. CST. Live results will be available at ArkansasRazorbacks.com and a complete meet recap will be available after each day of competition.
