FAYETTEVILLE -The University of Arkansas men’s tennis team was named a 2013 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic for the second year in a row.
Rising seniors Hall Fess, Manfred Jeske, Pete Thomason and sophomore Santiago Munoz were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes. "We’re very proud of the team’s academic success," head coach Andy Jackson said. "This recognition is a credit to them and Coach Cox, and I look forward to continuing the tradition of success in the classroom. It’s also great to have four individuals recognized as academic leaders of the team."
Arkansas is just one of five Southeastern Conference schools to receive the team award. The ITA All-Academic award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or higher on a 4.00 scale.
In order to earn the ITA Scholar-Athlete a student-athlete must meet the following criteria; be a varsity letterwinner, have a GPA of 3.50 or higher (on a 4.00 scale) and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
