FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas men’s track and field team announces the signing of Erich Sullins for the 2014-15 season.
The Arlington, Texas native was the 2014 All-District, All-Area, and All-Regional Champion in discus, placing sixth at Texas 5A State Championship. In addition, Sullins was a silver medalist at the 2014 Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
Sullins was a 2013 TX 3-5A District Champion, as well as Area and Regional Qualifier in discus. He owns the school record in discus with a mark of 183-11 and has scored in every meet over the past two years. Sullins was named Oustanding Senior and Outstanding Male Athlete.
"Sullins is a big strong athlete that reminds us a lot of our own Devin Randall," said Head Coach Chris Bucknam." "He has the athletic ability to compete in any sport. We are excited that he has chosen to pursue his track and field career here at the University of Arkansas. We are always striving for a well-rounded team and Sullins is a fantastic addition to our program."
He was a three-year letterman in track and field and football. Sullins was a Student Council Officer and member of the National German Honor Society, National Math Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Sullins is the son of Dan and Lea Sullins. His older brother, Crawford Sullins, played football for the Razorbacks during the 2011 Cotton Bowl season.
