“It was a little somber at first, but once we got on the court and visited a little, they gave it everything they had. We got in late last night and I tossed and turned. We’re concerned about our kids. That’s our first priority.”
UA’s senior class of T.J. Cleveland, Brandon Dean, Teddy Gipson and Jannero Pargo:
“We have a senior class that showed leadership at Mississippi State. They stepped up to the plate. Those guys came in here and gave us everything they had. They came in when we had the cloud of the NCAA investigation hanging over us and those guys stayed throughout. We’re a family.
“It was a blessing to have a nephew (Cleveland) go through the ranks, and to see him grow and mature.”
Richardson’s return to practice:
“I imagine Coach will be back at practice on Friday, but you would have to ask him.”
Richardson’s relationship with the players and with Anderson:
“Coach is a father to these players, more than you know, but at the same time they are trying to maintain the winning tradition at Arkansas.
“Coach will always be Coach Nolan Richardson to me. I think he’s a great man. I’ve been blessed.”
Thoughts on Richardson’s post-game press conference at Mississippi State:
“Coach is a very deep person. He addressed some of the things that were taken out of context (from earlier press conferences). There are a lot of great people in the media Coach would give his right arm for. It was emotional for me to be in the room.”
