FAYETTEVILLE – Beth Miller has been named assistant communications director by the University of Arkansas Department of Athletics it was announced Tuesday. Miller will serve as the primary contact for soccer, women’s and men’s track and field, and cross country.
Miller brings significant experience to her new role, most notably transforming sports information at Lindenwood University in Belleville, Ill. Miller served as the first full-time sports information director at Lindenwood-Belleville and was the primary sports contact for all 27 sports in addition to developing a new website for athletics. In her role, she built the sports information department with a proactive, innovative and strategic approach to elevate brand awareness as she implemented and managed all social media outlets for the athletic department, including the official Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Prior to her position at Lindenwood-Belleville, Miller spent five years as a media services assistant at Southern Illinois University. While at SIU, Miller was the primary contact for volleyball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s golf and swimming and diving. In addition to being responsible for all publications, publicity and statistics for those sports, Miller hosted and assisted with various Missouri Valley Conference and NCAA Tournaments and Championships.
Miller also held positions with Mississippi River Group as an events and promotions coordinator, at Kane County Cougars as a ticket assistant, at Southern Illinois Miners as a marketing and promotions assistant and at WSIL-TV3 as an associate producer.
Miller graduated from SIU with a master’s degree in sport management and a bachelor’s degree in speech communication. Miller will officially begin her position with the Razorbacks in early November.
