Miseciviute Bordeleau take singles titles at William & Mary

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — Arkansas’ Aurelija Miseciviute and Audrey Bordeleau captured singles titles at the 15th annual William and Mary Invitaitonal.

Misciviute defeated Marshall’s Kellie Schmidt in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, for the Flight A title. Bordeleau rallied from an opening setback to win the Flight D title, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, over Virginia’s Maggie Yahner.

The Lady’Backs missed out on a third title when Melissa Hoffmeister fell in Flight E’s championship match Emese Kardhordo of Richmond, 6-3, 6-2.

Freshman Delia Damaschin picked up the Flight D consolation title as she downed Virginia’s Lara Alexander, 6-4, 6-3.

In Flight C, Nanar Airapetian took a 6-2, 6-0, decision over Richmond’s Kelly Tidwell.

Miseciviute wasn’t as lucky in doubles, losing the Flight A title match along with her partner Kaluder, 8-3, to the Penn duo of Kosminskaya and Koulbitskaya.

Arkansas did pick up the third-place match in Flight A doubles as the top-seeded team of Airapetian and Maryori Franco beat the tournament’s #2 seed Mang and Zsilinszka of Duke, 8-6.
