Miseviciute earns second All-America honors

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The University of Arkansas’ women’s tennis standout, Aurelija Miseviciute has been named to her second ITA All-America team, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced today.

An All-American last season, Miseviciute (41-5) advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Singles Championship this year and was ranked No. 3 in the year end ITA rankings.

A three-time All-Southeastern Conference and two-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honoree, Miseviciute went 11-0 in SEC match play in 2009, leading the Razorbacks to a 15-8 record. The Razorbacks finished the season ranked No. 15 after falling to eventual national champion Duke in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAAs.

An ITA All-Star in 2008, Miseviciute is again a finalist for the Honda Sports Award, which will be announced later this summer. The winner after nationwide balloting will become a candidate for The Honda-Broderick Cup awarded annually to the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year.

The all-time singles wins leader at Arkansas with 126, Miseviciute earned back to back ITA National Indoor Championships (2007, 2008) while earning a degree in economics and maintaining a 3.84 grade-point average. She also was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2008 and 2009.
