Miseviciute named SEC Player of the Week Arkansas in ITA Top 15

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas’ Aurelija Miseviciute added another honor to her impressive 2007-2008 season when the Southeastern Conference named herits women’s tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Miseviciute has been a vital part of the Lady Razorbacks’ SEC Western Division title run, and is coming off a weekend in which she, ranked No. 1 in the nation, captured her 45th win of the season moving into first-place for the most singles wins in Lady’Back history. Miseviciute and doubles partner Ela Kaluder also moved alone into fifth place for most doubles wins in a season with their 27th on Sunday.

This is only the second time this season a Lady’Back has been named SEC Player of the Week, as Kaluder was honored two weeks ago.

After clinching the SEC West on Sunday, Arkansas stayed in the top 15 according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association at No. 15. The Lady’Backs are currently 14-7, and 7-3 in SEC action, the most in conference play since 1998.

Arkansas will close-out the regular season on Saturday in Bagton Rouge, La. against LSU at 1:00 p.m.
