Missouri Southern Stampede Up Next for Cross Country Hogs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. Arkansas cross country will travel north to Joplin, Mo. for the Missouri Southern Stampede, Sat., Sept. 15. The race will go off at 9:45 a.m.

Joining the Razorbacks and the hosting Missouri Southern Lions will be Oral Roberts, Tulsa, Missouri-Kansas City, Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Harding University, among others.

Competing for the Hogs this weekend are Shawn Forrest, Scott MacPherson, Tyler Hill, Matt Munoz and Rio Reina. Lane Boyer, Michael Chinchar and Duncan Phillips are also expected to make their Razorback cross country debuts.

At the Missouri Southern Stampede in 2006, Scott MacPherson was the race runner-up and led the Razorbacks to a first-place team finish. The Hogs earned a team score of 24 points to capture the win. Southwest Baptist University finished second in the team standings with 132 points. MacPherson crossed the finish line in a time of 24:21.6.

The first United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll of the 2007 season was released this week. The Razorbacks sit at No. 5 on the national poll and No. 1 on the South Central Regional poll. They are the top-ranked SEC team in the nation and in the South Central Region.
