Moore Named To All-SEC Second Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A two-time SEC Golfer of the Week this spring, Arkansas junior Taylor Moore earned All-SEC second team honors on Thursday, announced by the league office. Moore is the 15th different player in the program’s 24-year history be named to the All-SEC first or second team.

Currently ranked No. 42 by Golfstat, Moore leads the 27th-ranked Razorbacks with a 71.8 scoring average that features 13 under-par rounds and eight top 20s over 10 events, which are also team-bests. Moore leads Arkansas with 95 birdies, highlighted by double figure birdies in seven tournaments, and has been the team low-man in 13 rounds and four events.

Moore’s big spring most recently featured a sixth place showing at the SEC Championships where he finished the 54-hole event that featured 25 top 100 players with rounds of 66 and 67. The top 10 was the fifth in six spring events for Moore, who shot under-par nine times

Moore and the Razorbacks await their NCAA Regional destination will be unveiled on Monday, May 4 at 9 a.m. on the Golf Channel.

Over the program’s nine years under head coach Brad McMakin, the Razorbacks have earned an NCAA Regional berth eight times and advanced to the NCAA Championship in four of the last six years, highlighted by a runner-up finish in 2009. Of the program’s 34 All-SEC first or second team selections, 12 have come under McMakin while he’s also coached six different SEC All-Freshman choices.
