Moore Snags Second Career Weekly Honor

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Coming off a second place finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational in which Arkansas also took second in the 14-team field, junior Taylor Moore was named the Co-SEC Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

The SEC Golfer of the Week honor is the second of Moore’s career as he shared the award with Florida’s J.D. Tomlinson.

The top five finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational was the second in as many years for Moore, who was the only player in the field last weekend to card three rounds at even-par or lower. Moore finished two strokes back of the leader, carding rounds of one-under 69, even-par 70 and two-under 68. He finished with a team-best 11 birdies and tied with classmate Kolton Crawford for the tournament-lead in par 4 scoring (-4).

Moore leads Arkansas with a 71.8 scoring average through 15 rounds, turning in a counting score 14 times. Dating back to last fall, Moore has been even-par or lower in seven of his last nine rounds while finishing as the Razorbacks’ low-man the last two events. Moore leads Arkansas with six under-par rounds on the year and has finished in the top 20 four times.

Arkansas moved up to No. 38 in the latest Golfstat rankings following its second place finish at the SunTrust Gator Invitational where it defeated a pair of top 10 teams. The Razorbacks are back in action on Friday when they open play at the Bayou City Collegiate Championship held at the Golf Club of Houston.
