FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas sophomore right handed pitcher Brandon Moore has been selected to the 2012 SEC Baseball Community Service Team, as announced on Monday afternoon. Moore is involved with several community service projects both on the U of A campus and in the community. A native of Van Buren, Ark., Moore has participated in Lift Up America, the SEC Together We CAN Food Drive, the Sweat Hawgs and Book Hogs program and with Miracle League Baseball. Moore is also a member of Arkansas’ Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Along with his work off the field, Moore has been one of the main go-to pitchers out of the Arkansas bullpen in 2012. Moore ranks sixth in the SEC with a 2.77 ERA and has posted a 4-2 record with two saves in 22 appearances, 19 in relief. In 61.2 innings of work, Moore has allowed 24 runs, 19 earned, on 54 hits, while striking out 33 and issuing just seven walks. Opponents are hitting just .235 against the sophomore right hander. Moore and the Arkansas baseball team open postseason play on Tuesday as they face Mississippi State in the first round of the 2012 SEC Baseball Tournament. First pitch is scheduled for 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one, which features Kentucky and Ole Miss and begins at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday’s game will be televised by SportSouth and available in Northwest Arkansas on Fox Sports Southwest.
