Morgan Signs With Dolphins

MIAMI — The Miami Dolphins announced the signing of former Arkansas wide receiver Drew Morgan as an undrafted free agent Friday.

Morgan, who holds the No. 3 and No. 4 spots on Arkansas’ single-season reception chart, finished his four-year career ranked seventh in program history for career receptions (138), 15th in receiving yards (1,763) and 13th in receiving touchdowns (14).

The Greenwood, Arkansas, native started nine of 13 games in 2016 and led the team in receptions (65) for the second straight year. He totaled three touchdowns and was Arkansas’ second leading receiver with 739 yards. Morgan also tied for second in the Southeastern Conference in first-down receptions with 40 and was a reliable target on third down with a league-best 12 catches that resulted in a first down.

Though he began the 2015 season as the Razorbacks’ No. 3 or No. 4 wide receiver, Morgan went on to lead the team in receptions (63), yards (843) and touchdown catches (10). His 10 receiving touchdowns also led the SEC during the regular season. Eight of his scoring grabs came in SEC play, which was tops in the conference. Morgan ended his junior campaign with a TD reception in five of eight conference contests and as only the fourth player in school history to haul in double-digit TD passes during a single season. He tallied three 100-yard receiving games, all against SEC opponents, to become the first Razorback to accomplish that feat since Jarius Wright in 2011.
