Mulvaney and McDonnell Nab SEC Cross Country H

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas freshman cross country runner Chris Mulvaney grabbed 2000 SEC Male Freshman Cross Country Athlete of the Year honors and head coach John McDonnell was named SEC Male Coach of the Year on Tuesday as announced by the SEC media relations office.
Mulvaney, a freshman from the United Kingdom, finished 14th at the SEC Championships to help the Hogs claim their 27th consecutive conference title. At the NCAA South Central Regional Championships, Mulvaney grabbed another 14th place finish to help the Razorbacks earn a berth to the NCAA Championships. His finishes earned him All-SEC and All-Region honors.
This is McDonnell’s sixth-consecutive year to be named the SEC Male Cross Country Coach of the Year. McDonnell led his Razorbacks to their 27th consecutive-conference title and 11th national title. His teams have earned 36 national titles in his 27 years at the University of Arkansas.
