NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship Draws Set

ATHENS, Ga. – The 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Singles and Doubles Championship draws were announced Tuesday morning.

Senior Mike Redlicki, the No. 10 singles player in the country, is set to face 63rd-ranked Johannes Schretter of Baylor on Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT. Redlicki is 27-10 overall this season and 10-8 this spring. The Chicago product has faced a ranked opponent in 26 of 37 matches during his senior campaign, holding a 19-7 overall record and 8-6 mark during the spring.

Jose Salazar, ranked 39th in singles, will square off against 13th-ranked Skander Mansouri of Wake Forest on Wednesday at 2 p.m. CT. Salazar leads the Razorbacks with a 30-8 overall record, including an impressive 19-5 mark this spring. He is 9-4 overall against ranked opponents, 7-1 this spring. Salazar is also 8-2 away from home this season.

In the first round of the doubles championship, the sixth-ranked tandem of Redlicki and Salazar will face 16th-ranked Herkko Pollanen and Mikael Torpegaard of Ohio State on Thursday at a time yet to be determined. The Razorback duo went 10-7 in the spring, 13-8 overall during their final season. In the fall, Redlicki defeated Torpegaard 6-4, 6-3 for the ITA/USTA National Indoor Singles Championships.

Following the Southeastern Conference Tournament, Redlicki and Salazar were both named first-team All-SEC selections. The duo also picked up postseason ITA Central Regional awards, as Redlicki was named the Senior Player of the Year, while Salazar earned the Most Improved Player (Senior) award.
