NCAA Selection Show to air on ESPNEWS

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team is in preparation for the upcoming NCAA tournament scheduled for May 14-15. The Hogs are fresh off the courts after advancing to the second round of the SEC Championship Tournament over Auburn, 4-0, before dropping a heartbreak 4-3 match to Ole Miss.
On Tuesday, the Razorback women’s tennis team will watch the NCAA Tournament Selection Show to find out where they will be placed in the field of 64. The NCAA Selection Show will air on ESPNews at 4 p.m. CT and will last approximately an hour.
"It’s always exciting for the team to gather together to find out our NCAA draw,” head coach Michael Hegarty said. “It’s extremely similar to the basketball tournament in that it’s a 64-team event and you really can’t be sure of anything until your school’s name is called."
Arkansas is ranked No. 24 in the ITA national rankings and finished second in the SEC Western Division with a 16-8 overall record and a 6-5 mark in the conference. In the latest rankings, Anouk Tigu jumped 17 spots to No. 29 in the nation in singles with 15-9 overall record.
"We hosted the Rounds of 64 and 32 last season and that was a great thrill for our team.” Hegarty said. “Whether we host or not this year, we are just excited to get out there and compete as well as we have all season."
