What’s On The Line
Arkansas enters the final series of the regular in a three-way tie for first place for the overall league title. The Razorbacks are tied with Ole Miss and Georgia. South Carolina, Florida and LSU are each one game back. The Razorbacks are also tied with Ole Miss for first place in the SEC Western Division. Should there be a tie with two or more teams for either the overall conference title or a division title, a co-championship would be declared with all involved teams claiming a league/division title. Tie-breakers would only be used to determine seeding for the SEC Tournament.
Arkansas has not won a league or division title since the 1999 season. That year was Arkansas’ only championship season since joining the SEC in 1992. Prior to that, the Razorbacks won Southwest Conference titles in 1989 and 1990. The Razorbacks were picked to finish last in the SEC West and 11th overall in the league this season.
Seven of Arkansas’ last eight games have been decided by two runs or less, including three one run games. Arkansas is 4-4 in those eight games, but 0-3 in the one-run contests. In SEC games, the Razorbacks are 4-4 in one-run games and 9-5 in games decided by two runs or less.

Arkansas has bee held to four runs or less in six of the last seven games with the lone exception being a 13-run performance against Texas-Pan American on May 11. Razorback batters are hitting .279 in the last seven games and have struck out 54 times and hit into eight double plays. Arkansas is 3-4 in those seven games.
