No. 4 Arkansas Travels To Stillwater For Season Opener

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The fourth-ranked Arkansas men’s cross country team will travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma this weekend, opening its season at Oklahoma State’s Cowboy Preview on Friday, Sept. 1.

The unconventional meet, designed as an early season tune-up will feature the Razorbacks taking on three regional foes including No. 11 Tulsa, No. 12 Oklahoma State and Oklahoma.

Hogs on the Run
Returning from his 2016 NCAA top-50 finish, Cameron Griffith will lead the Razorbacks’ charge in Stillwater. Griffith will be joined by 2016 SEC Freshman of the Year Carter Persyn as well as Graham Brown, Preston Cates, Kyle Levermore and Ethan Moehn.

Levermore was Arkansas’ top finisher at the meet last season, completing the course in 16 minutes,  13.50 seconds, which was good for 12th overall.

“Our goal this is year is to take each race and each workout one day a time and improve week by week throughout the year,” head coach Chris Bucknam said. “We want to be at our best at the end of the season, at the SEC and NCAA Championships, and extend our streak to eight straight SEC titles.”

Arkansas will line up at 8 a.m. on Friday.
