FAYETTEVILLE – Following its fourth-place finish at last week’s Southeastern Conference Championship in Birmingham, Arkansas has maintained its No. 12 GymInfo national ranking heading into next week’s NCAA North Central Regional in Denver.
The Razorbacks earned their eighth straight NCAA Regional spot on Monday and are the No. 2 seed in Denver. The North Central Regional is Saturday, April 2, at 5 p.m.
Florida is the top seed, Boise State No. 3, Denver No. 4, Arizona No. 5 and Brigham Young No. 6. Florida is ranked No. 1 in the nation, Boise State is No. 13, Denver No. 19, Arizona No. 20 and BYU No. 27.
The top two teams from each of the six regionals advance to the NCAA Championship April 15-17 in Cleveland.
In the individual event rankings, the Razorbacks are tied for No. 9 in the country on vault, No. 22 on bars, No. 13 on beam and No. 11 on floor.
Individually, junior All-American Jaime Pisani is No. 3 in the nation on floor, No. 5 in the all-around and tied for No. 16 on vault.
Freshman Katherine Grable is No. 16 in the all-around, tied for No. 22 on floor and tied for No. 32 on beam. Sophomore Jordan Salsberg is No. 37 in the all-around.
In the South Central Region, Arkansas is No. 3 overall, tied for No. 2 on vault, No. 4 on bars, No. 3 on beam and No. 4 on floor.
Individually in the all-around, Pisani is No. 1, Grable No. 3 and Salsberg No. 6.
On vault, Pisani is No. 3, Grable tied for No. 11, senior All-American Michelle Stout tied for No. 16, Salsberg tied for No. 22, sophomore Kelci Lewis tied for No. 36 and sophomore Amanda Siebert tied for No. 40.
On bars, Pisani is No. 11, Stout tied for No. 21, junior Mariah Howdeshell No. 29, Salsberg tied for No. 32, and Grable and freshman Shelby Salmon tied for No. 38.
On beam, Grable is tied for No. 9, Pisani tied for No. 11, Salsberg is No. 19, senior Stacy Bartlett is tied for No. 20 and freshman Scarlett Williams is tied for No. 27.
On floor, Pisani is No. 1, Grable tied for No. 5, Lewis tied for No. 22, freshman Bailee Zumwalde is No. 33 and Salsberg No. 36.
