No. 17 Hogs set to host Cajuns and Utes

FAYETTEVILLE — The 17th-ranked Razorback women’s tennis team will be hosting a pair of matches this weekend against no. 61 Utah and Louisiana-Lafayette at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center. The Hogs are fresh off a strong showing at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, where the team split two matches against no. 23 Washington and no. 16 Michigan.

“We definitely felt good about how we played last weekend,” said head coach Michael Hegarty. “We came out of it with a big win over Washington and had a really tight loss to Michigan. We were a couple of points from having a sweep for the weekend, so we just have to take that same feeling into this weekend.”

Coming into this weekend, Arkansas (3-1) holds a perfect all-time record against both Utah and Louisiana-Lafayette. The team is 2-0 against Utah with its last victory coming in the 2007-2008 season and is 7-0 against Lafayette with its last victory also coming in the 2007-2008 season.

“Both Utah and Louisiana-Lafayette are solid teams this year,” said Hegarty. “We need to play really well to be successful and we’re looking forward to the challenge from both teams.”

This weekend’s first match will be played on Saturday at noon against the Cajuns and the second match will be against the Utes on Sunday at 9 a.m. Both matches will be played at the Dills Indoor Courts.

Live stats will be available for both matches and full results will be posted on ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
