No. 4 Florida outserves Arkansas

Jump toFlorida box score GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Arkansas suffered a three-game loss at No. 4 Florida in Southeastern Conference volleyball action in Gainesville, Fla., Friday. Arkansas (13-8, 6-3 SEC) allowed the Gators (19-1, 9-0 SEC) 11 service aces and were out-hit .076 to .220 in the 10-30, 31-33, 23-30 loss. Junior Denitza Koleva paced Arkansas with 10 kills and is just two shy of her career 1,000th-kill, a mark she is expected to reach Sunday in a league match at Georgia. Koleva hit .161 with six digs in the loss. Sophomore Jessica Dorrell tallied nine kills and hit a team-best .286 for Arkansas and was the only Lady’Back better than the .200 mark. Senior Karla Crose had four blocks for the Lady’Backs as the Gators out-blocked Arkansas 6.0-5.5. The Gators hit just .220 behind a 12-kill performance from reigning SEC Player of the Year who posted 12 kills, 13 digs and had four service aces. “After the first game, I thought we competed well,” said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. “It’s just disappointing we came out so flat in the first. Hopefully we can build on the good things in games two and three and get back on track for Sunday.” The Lady Razorbacks return to SEC action continuing their Eastern Division swing with a road match at Georgia Sunday at 12:30 p.m., Central.
