ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — The @razorbacksoccer team defeated ninth-seeded Missouri in the opening round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament Monday night to advance Arkansas to the SEC Quarterfinals for the first time since 1996. The Razorbacks (13-7, 5-6 SEC) will face top-seeded and regular season champion Florida (15-3-1, 9-2 SEC) in quarterfinals action Wednesday night. The two teams did not meet in regular season play this year. The Razorbacks and Gators last match was on September 30, 2012. "Florida is a good team,” said Head Coach Colby Hale. “They are a new challenge since we haven’t played them yet this year. This team has risen to the challenge every time one has presented itself and I am sure that this will be no different. We are confident and excited to play the champions." Arkansas is coming off a dominant 4-0 victory over No. 9 Missouri, while Florida received a bye past the first round of SEC play. The Gators lead the all-time series 17-0. The two teams have met three times at the SEC Tournament, the last time being in 2000.
Kick-off between the Razorbacks and Gators is slated for 5 p.m. in Orange Beach, Ala., and can be seen live on www.SECDigitalNetwork.com.
