No. 9 Razorbacks Split Between Drake and Penn Relays

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas women’s track and field team will split between the Drake Relay and Penn Relays this weekend.

At the Drake Relays, the No. 9 Razorbacks are focused on the 4×400-meter relay and 4×1600-meter relay, owning the Drake Relays record in both events. Arkansas set the 4×400-meter relay record in 2011 with 3:28.63 and set the 4×1600 record in 2012 with a time of 3:45.48.

The 4×400 is an event the Razorbacks have excelled at this season with five top-five finishes so far. Chrishuna Williams, Dania Harper, Regine Williams, Brianna Swinton and Taylor Ellis-Watson have shard time in the event so far this season.

The four-day meet in Des Moines kicked off Wednesday with multi-events, running events beginning Friday and conclude Saturday afternoon.

The Razorbacks also sent a contingent of field atheltes to the Penn Relays. Sandi Morris, Ariel Voskamp, Danielle Nowell and Megan Zimlich will compete in pole vault with Tamara Myers in long jump.
