Nominate your legendary Razorback fan

FAYETTEVILLE — You sit by them at home games, you see them at road games and they are a huge part of our Razorback Nation. Now, you can make sure they receive their due by nominating them as Legendary Fans.

During the 2009-10 season, the University of Arkansas Athletic Department wants to honor its Legendary Fans. Starting in September, one Razorback supporter per month will be honored.

Nominate your Legendary Fan, and your 100-word essays are reviewed by the 100 Years of the Razorback committee to select the 12 Legendary Fans.

What is a Legendary Fan? Some of the criteria are obvious:

— Long-time supporter of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks.

— A wardrobe filled with Cardinal and White.

— Can tell what the difference between an Uncle Heavy and a modern era Hog Hat.

— And knows that indeed, Hogs Smell Good.

However, we are looking for that special difference that separates a super fan from a Legend.

A Legendary Fan has:

— Gone above and beyond to attend events, or bring family members to events.

— Has been a supporter through the good times and bad.

— Serves as a model to his friends and his seating section of what being a Razorback fan means.

— A compelling personal story that separates them into the all-time elite of Hogs.

The nomination process is simple. Fill out the on-line questionnaire or download the paper version of the form to mail or fax back to the Razorback Athletic Department. Nominations selected by the 100 Years of Razorbacks committee will be contacted for further details and after review are chosen for individual months of the coming year.
