NORMAN, Okla. — The No. 2 seeded Razorback doubles team wins three games to advance to the semifinals of the ITA Regional Championship. Seniors Matt Hogan and Chris Nott defeated Vasos and Kauss from Iowa, 9-8(3), to move on to the next round.
In singles play, Hogan and Nott both came up short in today’s matches.
Gregoire Lehmann was victorious in his third round match against Marinescu of Wichita State, 6-0, 4-6, 6-3, but then fell to Erasmus of Drake, 6-4, 6-2.
“It was a tough day for us on the court,” head coach Robert Cox said. “We were lacking in some areas but we know what they are and we will be better for it.”
Monday is the final day of ITA Regional action. The doubles pair Nott and Hogan will compete against Bikyakov/Bessonov of Oklahoma State tomorrow. The winner of the match will contend for the title of ITA Regional Champion.
“Chris and Matt continue to gel as a team, and they are getting better and better each week. We’ll see how they do against Oklahoma State tomorrow,” Cox said.
