Nunn Lady'Backs remain second at Betsy Rawls

Jump tocomplete results AUSTIN, Texas—The 24th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team remains second behind solid play from sophomore Lucy Nunn in second round action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, Saturday. Nunn and the Lady Razorbacks battled high winds with the Lawton, Okla., native carding a 77 for a 147 (70-77) after two rounds. She is tied for second. "Lucy battled through some things today," said assistant coach Shauna Estes. She had a pair of birdies late in the round that really helped her score." Arkansas junior Stacy Lewis moved from a tie for 13th after an opening round 76 to sixth with an even par 72 for 148 Saturday. Junior Ashley Medders is tied for 28th overall with a 157 (78-79), followed by freshman Kristin Ingram who is tied for 57th with 163 (82-81). Freshman Alex Schulte withdrew from play Saturday while freshman Corinna Rees is 76th overall with a 168 (89-79) playing as an individual. The Lady Razorbacks hung on to a tie for second place posting a second-round 309 for 615 (306-309). Host Texas leads the field on its home course just eight strokes ahead of Araknsas with a 607 (303-304) while the Lady’Backs are tied with No. 27 TCU (206-209) and No. 18 Purdue (307-308) at 615. Iowa State is fifth in the field of 15 with 618 (314-3104) with No. 45 Southern Methodist (313-308=621), Nebraska (315-307=622), Oklahoma (316-306=622), No. 39 Baylor (317-306=623) andNotre Dame (314-315=629) rounding out the top 10 team finishes.
