FAYETTEVILLE – The sixth-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team shot a second round 10-over par 294 at the UCF Invitational Monday in Sonnoma, Florida.

“It is just a case of doing the little things,” said Arkansas head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor. “It’s still early in the spring season and we’re still getting used to playing completive rounds again. We just need to make some five-footers and get up and down more.”

Senior Lucy Nunn fired the best round of the day for Arkansas with an even par 72 that included three birdies and three bogeys putting in a tie for 42nd place. Freshamn Kelli Shean carded a 2-over 74 and is the top Lady Razorback after two rounds at 3-over par which has her tied for 21st. Senior Stacy Lewis had an uncharacteristic round with 2 triple bogeys but closed out her round with 2 birides to finish with a 4-over 76 dropping her into a tie for 28th. Sophomore Kristin Ingram shot a 4-over 76 and is tied for 74th while Senior Whitney Sylvan finished with a 6-over 78 and is tied for 77th.

The Lady Razorbacks enter the final round in 14th place trailing top ranked Duke who leads the field with a 12-under 564. “We just need to commit to the game plan and go low tomorrow,” noted Estes-Taylor. “I know we’re disappointed with today’s round but we’ll be ready to go tomorrow.”

Arkansas will be paired with Central Florida and Florida State in Tuesday’s final round. For more information about Arkansas golf, please log on to LADYBACKS.COM
