Nunn reaches quarterfinals in Texas

Kingwood, Texas – University of Arkansas junior Lucy Nunn moved into the quarterfinals of the 93rd Women’s Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship in Kingwood, Texas, Wednesday.

Nunn defeated Caitlin Bliss, 4 and 3, moving into the quarterfinals Thursday with two rounds to play before Friday’s 36-hole final.

Nunn has breezed through play on the Island Course, a par 72, 6,044 yard course remaining in the Championship Flight.

University of Arkansas teammate sophomore Tiffany Phelps also won her match in the First Flight Consolation. Phelps of McKinney, Texas, downed Paige Martin of Ardmore, Okla., 4 and 2.
