Nunn tied for fourth leading the Lady'Backs at Liz Murphey

Jump to results ATHENS, Ga. – University of Arkansas sophomore Lucy Nunn posted a one-over 72 and is tied for fourth overall at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic in Athens, Ga., Friday. Nunn started on the 10th hole playing the back nine two over but a bogey and pair of birdies dropped her to a one over 72 on the par 71 UGA Golf Course. “Lucy played great golf today,” said assistant coach Shauna Estes. “She was solid all day and gave us a good start.” Arkansas is tied for ninth as a team after an opening round 304. Lady Razorback junior Stacy Lewis was one-over after her first nine but picked up a couple strokes on the front nine finishing tied for 11th overall with a 74. Freshman Kristin Ingram carded a 75 and is tied for 21, while Corinna Rees and Ashley Medders are tied for 56th with rounds of 79. “Kristin is really starting to get into the swing of things,” said Estes. “Her number helped us a lot today. Stacy struggled a bit coming down the stretch but hung on. She’ll be fine for the rest of the tournament. Fourth-ranked Auburn leads the field with a 293 followed by No. 22 Michigan State with a 297, No. 11 Florida with a 300, No. 25 LSU with 301 and No. 30 South Carolina and No. 29 Alabama counted 302’s to round out the top five. Host and third-ranked Georgia is tied with No. 19 Virginia in seventh with No. 26 Arkansas and No. 15 Purdue tied for ninth with rounds of 304. “It’s not too bad for the first day,” said Estes. “It’s a good score to build on and we’re going into tomorrow with a good frame of mind. We’re only four strokes out of third place with a lot of golf left to play. I’m excited to see what we can do the next two days.” Play continues for the Lady Razorbacks through Sunday.
