NWA product joins men's track

FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field head coach Chris Bucknam has announced the addition of Fort Smith native Neil Braddy for the 2010-2011 season. Braddy is Arkansas’ sixth addition for next year and the second from the Natural State.

Braddy will graduate from Southside High School and is a member of the 2009 and 2010 Arkansas 7A state champion track and field teams. He is a three-time all-state honoree and also lettered in basketball.

"We are pleased to sign another talented home state student-athlete", Bucknam said. "What attracted us to Neil, along with his talent, is his versatility and the fact that he’s coming from a championship high school program. He’s an outstanding competitor. He has great versatility and will continue to add depth to our sprints and relays."

Braddy holds personal bests of 10.57 in the 100 meters, 21.57 in the 200 meters, 48.01 in the 400 meters, 23-4.5 in the long jump and 48.07 as a leg of the 4×400-meter relay.

At the 2010 Arkansas 7A State Championships, he won the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 4×400-meter relay and the long jump. He holds the Southside High School records in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, long jump and as a member of the 4×100-meter relay.

Braddy joins Auston Chen (Tampa, Florida; multi events), Sam Ewing (Glenwood, Ark.; pole vault), Dwayne Golbek (Claremore, Okla.; high jump), Noah Kittelson (Indianola, Iowa; high jump) and Kevin Lazas (Brentwood, Tenn.; multi events) in Arkansas’ 2011 signing class.

The Razorbacks will compete next at the 2010 SEC outdoor Championships, May 13-16, in Knoxville, Tenn.
