O'Malley Selected to the SEC Good Works Team

FAYETTEVILLE-Arkansas junior outfielder Mindy O’Malley was named to the 2005 Southeastern Conference Good Works Team, the conference office announced.

The Goods Works Team recognizes student-athletes that give back to the community through superior service efforts. O’Malley, a Portland, Ore., native, community service projects include tutoring at Asbell Elementary and teaching children the importance of fitness through the S.W.E.A.T Hogs program.

Arkansas softball head coach Jamie Pinkerton said he pleased with O’Malley’s selection to the team as the award is a reflection of her personality and work ethic.

“This is a great honor for Mindy and I’m very proud of her,” Pinkerton said. “This award is what Mindy O’Malley is about. She shows up everyday and works hard.”

O’Malley was a vital member of the Lady Razorback softball team as she ranked second on the team this season in hits with 53 and stolen bases with 13. She was also third on the team in batting average with a .268 mark.
