FAYETTEVILLE — Prepared for its final home stand of the season, the No. 47 University of Arkansas women’s tennis team opens up its weekend hostingNo. 2 Georgia and Louisiana Tech at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday.
The Razorbacks (12-12, 2-8 SEC) and Bulldogs (15-3, 8-1 SEC) will face off for the first time this season at 3 p.m.,preceded by a dual matchwith Louisiana Tech at 10 a.m. Friday.UA returns home having split a four-game road trip last week over Spring Break.
Arkansas concludes its final home weekendagainst No. 45 Tennessee at 12 p.m. on Sunday. NOTICE: The first 150fans in attendance for Sunday’s final homematch of the seasonagainst Tennessee will receive a FREE ARKANSAS TENNIS COFFEE MUG.

MATCH NOTES: ARKANSASThe Razorbacks split their four-game road trip last week, earning another RPI win over North Florida but falling 4-0 to both No. 4 Florida and No. 65 South Carolina. Arkansas returns home for its final home matches of the season, hosting No. 2 Georgia on Friday at 3 p.m., then No. 45 Tennessee at 12 p.m. on Sunday. UA also faces Louisiana Tech 10 a.m. Friday. Shannon Hudson continues to lead the team with her notable freshman campaign, as she extended her current winning streak to seven straight games with a pair of wins last Tuesday. Hudson is now 12-5 in singles play this season. She is 2-0 at No. 1 singles as a true freshman, while playing all other matches exclusively at No. 2 singles.
MATCH NOTES: GEORGIAGeorgia went 2-0 last weekend and improved to 15-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play. On Friday, the Bulldogs knocked off their fourth top-10 opponent of the season in No. 7 Texas A&M, 4-0. On Sunday, UGA defeated Missouri, 4-0, in front of an ESPN3 national audience as part of the new USTA College MatchDay series. Three different Bulldogs have reached double-digit vitories in singles play, led by No. 21 Maho Kowase with 14 victories, including six in SEC play. UGA has four Bulldogs ranked nationally by the ITA, including three in the top 21.
SERIES STORYGeorgia leads the all-time series with Arkansas 24-3 … in the most recent meeting between the two programs, the Razorbacks fell 7–0 to the Bulldogs playing in Athens, Ga. … the series between the two schools began during the 1982-83 season.
