Pamphile Earns USAV Collegiate Team Spot

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Rising sophomore Elizabeth Pamphile has earned a spot on the 24-player U.S. Collegiate National Team-Detroit roster. Pamphile is one of six middle blockers on the roster that will compete and train together in June. The CNT-Detroit team is part of the USA Volleyball High Performance program and is considered a second tryout for the National Team.

“Liz has put in the work during her first year at Arkansas,” head coach Jason Watson said. “She has embraced growth and used the many resources available to her to enhance her level of play. Our entire program is proud to have her represent Arkansas as a member of USA Volleyball’s CNT-Detroit program.”

The Collegiate National Team-Detroit will train and compete in Detroit from June 22 through July 1, starting with a five-day training session at the University of Michigan followed by three exhibition matches at the Cobo Center in Detroit. Matches will be held in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships.

In her first season in Cardinal and White, Pamphile started in all 30 matches and posted at least seven kills in 22 matches including eight outings with 10 or more kills. In six of those eight performances, she coupled the double-digit production with a .400 or higher hitting percentage. Defensively, Pamphile amassed 95.0 total blocks and had at least four total blocks in 10 matches.

Pamphile participated in the USA Volleyball National Team open tryout in March at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Razorbacks opened their spring schedule last weekend with a home scrimmage against Kansas State. The team plays two more spring dates at Barnhill Arena on April 12 against Drury and April 26 against Missouri State.
