Parker Named to SEC Good Works Team

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Talley Parker, a member of the Razorback tennis team, was named to the 2004 SEC Good Works Team on Wednesday.
Parker is a junior biology major who spends much of his time outside of school and tennis helping in the community. Parker serves as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee that provides local elementary students tours of Razorback athletic facilities. He also volunteers time assisting patients at two local hospitals, Northwest Medical Center and Northwest Medical Free Health Center.
At the University of Arkansas, Parker is a member of the Emerging Leaders program that helps improve leadership skills and gives time to after-school programs. He currently mentors a student in the program.
On the season Parker has an 8-7 mark for the Hogs with six straight victories at one point. Parker, who is also a member of UA’s Lon Ferrell academic honor roll for maintaining a 3.0 GPA, prepped at Shiloh Christian and won the overall state title as a senior in 2001.
