Patterson earns weekly SEC recognition

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Razorback soccer player Lindsay Patterson has been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week by the league office following her nine-point weekend as Arkansas defeated Western Michigan and Nicholls St. The senior forward tallied four goals and one assist in her first full weekend of action. She is the second Razorback to earn conference offensive honors this season (Kelly O’Connor, Sept. 8).

Playing in just her second game of the season, Patterson logged a career-high five points against Western Michigan in Arkansas’ 3-0 win. She had a hand in each score as she had two goals and an assist. She scored two first-half goals from point-blank range to give the Razorbacks the early lead. Patterson added an assist with a helper on an O’Connor goal in the second half.

Against Nicholls St., Patterson scored two more goals Sunday in the fourth two-goal performance of her career. Her goals, in the 40th and 57th minutes, respectively, were part of Arkansas’ seven-goal output against the Colonels.

In just three games played this season, Patterson is tied for eighth in the SEC with nine points, the third-highest total in the league. She is one of five conference players with four goals, which is tied for sixth in the league.

With the non-conference season over, Patterson and the Razorbacks will begin SEC play on the road with games against Ole Miss and Mississippi St. Friday’s match against the Rebels is slated for a 6 p.m. start, while the weekend finale in Starkville will begin at 12 p.m. Visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com for continued coverage of Arkansas soccer.
