FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas softball head coach Jamie Pinkerton has been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-American and Coaching Staff of the Year committee. Pinkerton was elected in a national vote this past week and will represent the South region on the nine-person committee.The position is a two-year term and the Razorback head coach can be re-elected for another two years when the initial span is over. Pinkerton previously served on the NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll committee.Entering his fifth year at the helm of the Arkansas softball program, Pinkerton guided the Razorbacks to a 37-29 record last season that saw the team advance to NCAA Regional play in Norman, Okla. The win total is Pinkerton’s highest during his career in Fayetteville.The 2009 Razorback softball team will begin its season Feb. 6-8 at the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg, Miss. Arkansas’ first regular-season action at newly constructed Bogle Park will be Feb. 27-March 1 as it hosts the Holiday Inn-NWA Razorback Invitational.
