FAYETTEVILLE — A wide spread power failure effecting the ability to support technology on the University of Arkansas campus will impact this weekend’s athletic department activities.
The power failure is impacting large segments of the university network, including the connectivity to the internet.
As a result, today’s live video streaming from Baum Stadium and the Randal Tyson Track Center will be impacted. At this time, 11 a.m. CT, there will be no video live streams or live stats. Updates via interactive blogs and Twitter will be made over phone-based systems to keep fans up to date on events at the two facilities.
Arkansas hosts the 2011 Southeastern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship this weekend, with day two and three set for today and tomorrow.
The Razorbacks also host a series with Utah in baseball at Baum today and tomorrow.
University of Arkansas officials are working dillgently with outside agencies to repair the problem, and could restore connectivity in time for this weekend’s events.
Please monitor the athletic department’s official Twitter feed, @ArkRazorbacks, for additional updates.
