Practice Begins For 2013-14 Season

FAYETTEVILLE – Practice has officially begun for the 2013-14 Razorback gymnastics season. Arkansas is looking to build of its success from a season ago when the team made its sixth straight appearance at the NCAA Championship Meet.

The Razorbacks return All-American and floor event finalist Katherine Grable to the 2013-14 squad. Also, returning to competition this year are All-Americans Stephani Canizaro and Bailee Zumwalde.

In addition to the returning All-Americans, the Razorbacks will feature seniors Shelby Salmon and Scarlett Williams and junior transfer from Texas Women’s University Cailee Ellsworth. Arkansas’ also returns four sophomores from last season in All-SEC members Sydnie Dillard and Keara Glover, as well as Heather Elswick and Erin Freier.

Arkansas welcomes the addition of four freshmen for the 2013-14 season in Emily Bates, Samantha Nelson, Paris Ryder and Amanda Wellick.

The Razorbacks will now prepare for a schedule which highlights meets against five of the six teams that were featured in the NCAA Super Six in 2013. Six of the dates on the schedule will be at home in Barnhill Arena, which includes hosting the 2014 NCAA Fayetteville Regioanal on April 5.
