FAYETTEVILLE – With the 2010-11 men’s basketball season quickly approaching, several media outlets have distributed season previews and awards and the Razorback basketball team was certainly not overlooked. Juniors Rotnei Clarke and Jeff Peterson and sophomore Mrashawn Powell were each named to multiple lists by magazines and annuals such as Lindy’s, Athlon, Sporting News, Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook and

Lindy’s season preview magazine selected Clarke as a preseason second-team all-league pick and also named the guard from Verdigris, Okla., the No. 13 shooting guard in the nation. Clarke graced the cover of their season preview issue and in their list of shooting guards commented "What a start: he made 33 of 54 3-pointers in his first five games."

Athlon’s predictions have Powell as an honorable mention all-America selection and first-team all-SEC player. Their Hoops Madness section indicates that Peterson is one of 25 impact transfers and point out that "Peterson and 2-guard Rotnei Clarke should form one of the most prolific shooting backcourts in the SEC in ’10-11." Athlon’s Hoops Superlatives name Clarke as the No. 2 shooter behind Vanderbilt’s John Jenkins and Powell as the No. 9 Inside-Out player.

In the Sporting News’ publication, Clarke was dubbed the Best Shooter in the SEC in their conference preview.

One of the most comprehensive publications for college basketball fans is the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook which this season encompassed 400 pages of statistical information and previews. Blue Ribbon chose Powell as one of its five all-conference players.
