Price Comes Back to Move On

Chattanooga, Tenn. – Senior Razorback Nathan Price fought off a match point to successfully complete his come from behind win today at the Icy Hot All American.
“Nathan had a great day playing today,” head coach Robert Cox said. “I’m real pleased with his effort in this tournament.” “He is really demonstrating strong effort and senior leadership.”
Price’s round of 32 match in the pre-qualifying portion of the tournament found him facing Arkansas Little Rock’s Bastian Faisst. Faisst took the first set, 6-3, and led Price in the second set 5-4 with a match point when Price battled back eventually leveling the set at 5-5. From there the second set would go into a tiebreaker leading to an 8-6 tiebreaker score and a 7-6 set win. Price would dominate the third set by keeping the momentum to win the set easily, 6-1 and win the match, 3-6,7-6(8-6), 6-1.
Rohan Gajjar and Imraan Ismail played Louisiana State’s Colt Gaston and Ken Skupski in a round of 32 doubles match that saw the Gajjar and Ismail compete hard in a close match. At 8-8 the match would be decided by a final tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, LSU’s Gaston and Skupski would win, 7-3, leading to a match win of, 9-8.
“Rohan and Imraan played real competitive doubles,” Cox said. “They played a great match and showed great life.” “I believe our team is getting better.”
Price will play tomorrow at 9 a.m. against Lee Walker of Memphis in the round of 16 pre-qualifying rounds to decide who will play in the main qualifying rounds. If Price should win he will join teammate Adrians Zguns in the qualifying rounds, which starts on Tuesday October 5, 2003.
