#ProHogs | Lewis in the Hunt; Lopez’s First Event

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Former University of Arkansas All-American Stacy Lewis continued to move up the leaderboard and finds herself in the final group in the final round of the LPGA season-opener at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic Saturday.

Lewis and former Razorback Gabriela Lopez are both playing well with Lopez participating in her first event as a professional player.

Lewis, a The Woodlands, Texas, native, posted a six-under 67 in round three and is in the clubhouse with a 208 that includes a 73-68-67. She is 11-under for the tournament and one shot back of the leaders moving from a tie for 10th to a three-way tie for third with one round to play.

“I’ve got to shoot a number,” said Lewis. “And early, I think that was just kind of trying to force things. I hit some good putts that didn’t go in and was just trying to force things. I made a good putt on No. 7 and that seemed to get me relaxed a bit and I hit the ball great again. The golf swing’s been there all week and it’s just been how many putts I’ve made.”

Lopez is playing in her first event as a professional after earning her LPGA Tour card in December. She opened with a 71 followed by rounds of 72-76 and stands with 219 and tied for 59th overall
