Philadelphia Eagles

#ProHogs Week 10 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – 13-year pro and former Razorback Jason Peters has seen just about everything. A veteran of now seven years with the Philadelphia Eagles and five years before that with the Buffalo Bills, Peters has been a centerpiece to an Eagles’ offensive line that has been among the best in the NFL year in and year out.

This year has been no different. Peters has helped lead the Eagles offense in the top 15 for total points scored (202) and top 10 in points scored per game (25.2). The pass protection has been one of the best in the NFL as well as quarterback Carson Wentz has only been sacked 17 times, the sixth-lowest total in the NFL, fifth-lowest in the NFC.

A new wrinkle to the offense that head coach Doug Pederson and offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland have introduced is the unbalanced or tackle over formation. The basis of the formation lines up both of the Eagles’ tackles on one side and the tight end on the other to hopefully confuse opposing defenses on the Eagles’ intentions.

With Peters’ size and strength, the former Hog tight end turned tackle is an integral part of this formation along with teammate Halapoulivaati Vaitai. See below from PhiladelphiaEagles.com how the unique formation works.

Peters and the Eagles (4-4)  will be on the field for Week 10 in the NFL when they host the surging Atlanta Falcons (6-3) at Lincoln Financial Field at Noon on Sunday. The game will be televised on FOX.

#ProHogs to Watch In Week 10

Trey Flowers – DE New England Patriots
Defensive end Trey Flowers probably would have wanted the mandatory bye week to come at a different time than it did in Week 9. Coming off his best game as a pro that included a five tackle, two-sack performance against Buffalo in Week 8, the Patriots (7-1) had the week off in Week 9. Flowers still brought some of that momentum with him when he returned to Fayetteville to watch the Razorbacks pull out a strong win over No. 10 Florida.

Now returning to the NFL field this week against Seattle (5-2-1), Flowers hopes to continue what has been a great season. Through eight games, Flowers has 17 tackles, 10 solo stops, and two sacks, making him one of only two players on the team with multiple sacks this season. The Patriots and Seahawks kick off Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. CT on NBC.

Hunter Henry – TE San Diego Chargers
Missing his first game of the year due to a minor  knee injury, tight end Hunter Henry looks to get back on the field this week against the Miami Dolphins (4-4). Henry was a full participant in practice Thursday for the Chargers (4-5), but was due some rest after suffering his injury in Week 7. Henry had been taking advantage of the increased playing time earlier in the year when Antonio Gates went down with his own injury and had been having one of the best seasons in the rookie class.

Henry has caught 22 passes this year for 340 yards and three touchdowns. His three score performance over Weeks 4, 5 and 6 was the longest touchdown streak by an NFL rookie since 2014.
